Privacy and how Who's Up? works

Private by design. All friend information lives in this browser's storage on this device. There's no account, shared directory, or location tracking. Nothing is synced to another device.

Not a live status indicator. “Likely awake” is estimated using the waking and sleeping hours you set for each person. A one-hour buffer around those hours becomes “Could be up.”

Keep a backup. Browser storage may be lost if you clear website data, remove the app, or switch phones. Use Export backup regularly, and keep the JSON file somewhere private.

Offline friendly. Once installed and visited online, the app shell is cached for offline use where supported. Clocks use your device time and the built-in time zone database.
